Celebrating Excellence: Afeez Akinfola Oyinloye Shines at the Osun Youths Ambassador Awards
It was a momentous occasion filled with vibrant energy as Osun State and esteemed guests gathered for the 2017 Edition of the Osun Youths Ambassador Awards (OYAA) last Sunday at the Atlantis Event Centre in Osogbo, Osun State. This annual event, organized by the Youth Reformers Initiative (YRI), celebrated the remarkable achievements of talented and hardworking youths who are making significant strides in their chosen careers.
Among the standout recipients was Afeez Akinfola Oyinloye, the illustrious CEO of MacTech O.A Nig. Ents. His recognition at the event highlighted not just his personal accomplishments but also his commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, technological advancements among the youth. The awards ceremony saw twenty exceptional individuals receive the prestigious Osun Youth Ambassador Awards, all of whom embody the spirit of innovation and leadership that Oyinloye himself champions.
The prestigious recognition is not just an accolade for the awardees, but a rallying call for their peers to pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations. Oyinloye, alongside other award recipients, expressed a strong commitment to empowering the next generation, encouraging them to embrace self-employment and entrepreneurship instead of waiting for traditional white-collar job opportunities.
Among other notable awardees was Miss Racheal Bakare Adedolapo, who received accolades for her contributions to painting and entrepreneurship, including a scholarship to enhance her skills in Lagos. During the event, guest speaker Prof. Jelili Alamu, a former Vice Chancellor of Osun State University, addressed the audience on the crucial role of youths in societal development through humanitarian efforts. He congratulated award recipients like Oyinloye for their timely recognition, especially as Nigeria works to diversify its economy.
YRI President and convener of the awards, Miss Aminat Ajibola, emphasized the event’s purpose: to acknowledge the resilience and achievements of young Nigerians from Osun State who are creating impactful legacies in their fields. She commended the thorough nomination process that ensured the most deserving candidates, including Afeez Oyinloye, were honored for their contributions to the state’s growth.
Other distinguished award recipients included Miss Jelilat Opeyemi Olawale, co-publisher of Timenewsng, recognized as Osun Ambassador in Journalism, and Mr. Dare Eluyemi “Darey Young,” awarded for Youth Advocacy. So too were a host of other commendable individuals, such as Taiwo Ibikunle, Jide Bewaji, Oyebode Oyeniyi Joshua, and many more, celebrated for their achievements in diverse categories like entrepreneurship, entertainment, and community development.
The event drew an impressive crowd, including the Oluwo of Iwo land, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, who was represented by a traditional chief, along with former and current members of the Osun State House of Assembly and renowned entrepreneurs, all there to witness and honor the achievements of these outstanding youths.
