University of Lagos 55th Convocation Ceremonies 2024

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) announces the 55th Convocation Ceremonies for the 2023/2024 graduating class.

The events will begin on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, with a pre-convocation press conference.

Other activities, including exhibitions, lectures, and degree awards, will start on Monday, January 13, 2025.

A detailed schedule of events will be shared soon.

Payments and Academic Outfit for Graduating Students

Payment Details

All graduating students must complete payment for the convocation ceremonies.

Convocation fees are included in the school fees.

Students yet to pay must use the amount displayed on their student portal.

Academic Outfit Fees

Graduating students can either hire or purchase academic gowns.

First Degree ₦40,000.00 ₦15,000.00
Master’s, PGD, MPhil ₦40,000.00 ₦15,000.00
Doctorate Degree ₦65,000.00 Not Available

Payment Procedure

  1. Generate payment advice from the student portal.
  2. Make payment using the Remita platform and RRR.
  3. Account Name: University of Lagos TSA.

Payment Schedule

  • Start Date: December 12, 2024
  • Deadline: December 31, 2024
  • Gown Collection Begins: December 30, 2024

Collection of Academic Outfit and Order of Proceedings

Graduating students must collect their gowns and Order of Proceedings from their faculties or designated centres, including:

  • College of Medicine
  • School of Postgraduate Studies
  • Distance Learning Institute
  • University of Lagos Business School

A valid online receipt must be presented.

Submission of Payment Receipts

Graduating students must forward their payment receipts to the correct faculty email address for record purposes.

Invitation Cards

Graduating students must download and print their e-invitation cards from their email accounts.

The Order of Proceedings will also be available for download.

Return of Academic Outfit

All hired gowns must be returned immediately after the convocation ceremonies.

Failure to return the outfit by Monday, February 3, 2025, will incur a cost of ₦40,000.00 for the gown.

Clearance for certificate collection will only proceed after payment.

Certificate Collection

Certificates will be available immediately after the convocation.

Any certificate not collected within one year will incur a ₦10,000.00 demurrage fee.

For every additional year, a fee of ₦5,000.00 will apply.

Alumni Registration Fees

Graduating students must pay alumni registration fees into designated bank accounts.

  • First Degree: ₦5,000.00
  • Postgraduate: ₦7,500.00

Attendance Registration

Graduating students must register online to attend the ceremonies.

A link will be sent to email addresses by December 30, 2024.

After registration, students must print the Access Code to gain entry to the venue.

Ceremony Attendance Guidelines

Graduating students must arrive at the venue on time.

The doors will close as soon as the programme begins.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade T. Ogunsola, and the entire university community congratulate all graduating students.

Certificates will be available for collection after completing all clearance steps.
